Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Paz del Consejo Mundial de la Paz saluda a los cientos de millones de amantes de la paz en el mundo que sufren el deterioro diario de la paz y la seguridad en todos los rincones del mundo, junto con las consecuencias de la economía capitalista crisis, ambas causadas por las fuerzas que se benefician de las guerras y de la explotación, de la dominación imperialista.
El Consejo Mundial de la Paz expresa su profunda preocupación y su oposición a la creciente agresividad del imperialismo en el mundo, el sistema que hace que las guerras, la miseria y la destrucción salvaguardando al mismo tiempo los beneficios y los intereses de los monopolios multinacionales y el gran capital. El gasto militar crece año tras año va en aumento tanto en las ganancias de la industria de la guerra y las amenazas a la paz y los derechos sociales y económicos de los pueblos '.
Expresamos nuestra solidaridad con los pueblos que luchan contra todo tipo de amenazas e intervenciones imperialistas, a los pueblos sometidos a la ocupación y demás pueblos que luchan por su derecho a decidir libre y democráticamente su futuro. La doble moral y los estándares en lo que respecta a los principios de la Carta fundacional de la ONU se ha convertido en un procedimiento habitual. Desde la agresión de la OTAN contra los pueblos de Yugoslavia en 1999, la invasión y ocupación de Afganistán e Irak en 2001 y 2003, hasta que el ataque asesino y el bombardeo de Libia en 2011, los imperialistas han impuesto su voluntad, sus regímenes y los intereses de los pueblos . Las mismas fuerzas que se niegan sistemáticamente a tomar cualquier posición o acciones en el caso de la ocupación de Palestina, de Chipre, Sahara Occidental, el criminal bloqueo contra Cuba, la prisión injusta de los cinco antiterroristas cubanos en los EE.UU., o el estatus colonial de Puerto Rico o de los derechos de soberanía de Argentina sobre las islas Malvinas.
El Día Internacional de la Paz, en las condiciones actuales, no puede hacernos olvidar la miseria y el hambre, la pobreza y la injusticia que están imponiendo en todo el mundo, aunque en los casos y regiones sin guerras. Se trata de las mismas fuerzas que se benefician de la explotación de los trabajadores, campesinos y jóvenes mediante el control de la energía y otros recursos naturales, mercados que amenazan con intervenciones militares cuando sus intereses están en juego.

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace the World Peace Council salutes the hundreds of millions of peace loving people in the world who are suffering under the daily deterioration of peace and security in all corners of the globe along with the consequences of the economic capitalist crisis, both caused by the forces who benefit from wars and exploitation, from the imperialist domination.
The World Peace Council expresses its serious concerns and opposition to the growing aggressiveness of Imperialism allover the world, the system which causes wars, misery and destruction while safeguarding the profits and interests of the Multinational monopolies and big capital. The growing military expenses year by year are increasing both the profits of the war industry and the threats to peace and peoples’ social and economical rights.
We express our solidarity to the peoples who are struggling against all types of imperialist threats and interventions, to the peoples under occupation and all other peoples fighting for their right to determine freely and democratically their future. We express in particular our solidarity to the people of Syria who are a target of the ongoing war plans of the USA, its allies from NATO, EU and the Gulf monarchies under false pretexts which humanity has witnessed several times before. We call upon all peoples to remain vigilant since it is clear that the imperialists have not given up their plans for an open attack against Syria as well as their plans to attack Iran later, despite the temporary diplomatic maneuvers.
It is cynical and hypocritical to observe these days statements for the International Day of Peace by the forces and states who manipulate and instrumentalize the United Nations for their interests or often just neglect it when it does not fit into their imperialist plans. The double moral and standards in regards to the principles of the founding Charta of the UN has become a usual procedure. From the NATO aggression against the peoples of Yugoslavia in 1999, the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001 and 2003, till the murderous attack and bombing of Libya in 2011, the imperialists have imposed their will, their regimes and interests on the peoples. The same forces systematically refuse to take any position or actions in the cases of the occupation of Palestine, of Cyprus, Western Sahara, the criminal blockade against Cuba, the unjust imprisonment of the five Cuban antiterrorists in the USA, or the colonial status of Puerto Rico or the sovereign rights of Argentina on the Malvinas islands.
The International Day of Peace, in the current conditions, can not make us forget the misery and hunger, the poverty and injustice which are prevailing around the world, even when in cases and regions without wars. It is the same forces who benefit from the exploitation of working people, peasants and youth by controlling energy and other natural resources, markets who are threatening with military interventions when their interests are at stake.
The WPC reaffirms its demands for the abolition of all Nuclear Weapons and denounces those forces who do not refrain from the option of first strike, while installing regional missile defense shields in many regions.
The peoples of the world can confront united the aggressiveness of Imperialism! Let us fight together against imperialist war and exploitation!
